Our wonderful mum, Khim, sadly passed away in the early hours of Sunday 11 February, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was determined to see and celebrate a final Chinese New Year with us all.
She was an incredible mum, a soul mate, life partner and adventurer with our dad, and amazing Po Po / Nai Nai to our children. She was loved by so many, and will be sorely missed but will be forever with us
16 February 2024
An open casket viewing will take place at Compassionate Funerals on Friday 16 February 2024 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
There is no dress code, please come in what is comfortable for you, but please refrain from wearing red.
19 February 2024
A funeral service to celebrate Khim will take place on Monday 19 February 2024 at 9.30am. It will be an intimate affair with attendance in person limited to family. However, we welcome you to join the service online, either by live broadcast or a future recording will be made available. For details, please contact Karl, Sarah or Thomas.
Our wishes are that any money ordinarily spent on funeral flowers is instead donated to the following two charities:
The Margaret Centre
Mum spent her final days at the Margaret Centre hospice. The team did an incredible job looking after mum, and enabled us to share our final moments together peacefully and time we will cherish forever. The Margaret Centre team, alongside all the other teams at Whipps Cross that cared for mum were amazing.
Cavell
Midwifery was a huge part in mum’s life. She was one of the most dedicated midwives, with a career spanning over 40 years including Guys and Newham hospital to name a few… and has even delivered neighbour’s grandchildren!
Cavell is a charity which supports midwives in financial need.
Please see links to donate below.
Finally, a huge thank you for all of your beautiful messages to her during her time in hospital, as well as all your love and support to her and us as a family through this time as well as throughout her life. We have loved hearing your stories and memories of mum, and welcome you to share these either privately or on this page with us.
